This morning we attended playgroup in the most picturesque setting, right by the creek where the children could squish mud between their toes, splash in the water and just be immersed by nature. Black cockatoos did a fly over too. It was a totally natural spot, away from busy streets, noisy/man made locations. All the kids could hear where the rustle of the wind in the leaves, the birds swooping past and the trickle of the water, as opposed to the noise of cars pulling into parking spots behind them. There was no big man made/plastic playground in sight. So the children were encouraged to interact with nature, play with sticks, mud, water, pinecones etc.
